1. Who We Are
ClippyX ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered video clipping platform available at clippyx.site. We are operated as an independent service. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@clippyx.site.
2. What Data We Collect
- Account data: Your email address and name when you sign up or log in via Google OAuth.
- Video URLs: YouTube or Twitch URLs you submit for processing. We do not store the raw video files — they are downloaded, processed, and deleted from our servers within minutes.
- Generated clips: The short-form clips we produce are stored in Cloudflare R2 cloud storage. Free users' clips are retained for 3 days; Pro users' clips for 30 days.
- Payment data: Billing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage data: We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics (page views, feature usage). No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and request logs for security and debugging purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide the video clipping service you requested.
- To send you email notifications when your clips are ready.
- To manage your account, credits, and subscription.
- To improve the product using anonymised analytics.
- To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your videos or clips to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
- Speechmatics — cloud transcription API. Your audio is sent to Speechmatics for transcription and deleted after processing.
- OpenAI — used to analyse transcripts and identify viral moments. No video data is sent, only text.
- Cloudflare R2 — stores your generated clips. Clips are automatically deleted after the retention period.
- LemonSqueezy — handles all payments and subscription management.
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. We only receive your email and name.
5. Data Retention
- Generated clips: 3 days (Free) / 30 days (Pro), then permanently deleted from R2.
- Raw video files: Deleted from our processing servers immediately after clips are generated.
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
- Payment records: Retained by LemonSqueezy per their legal obligations.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account from the Settings page, which permanently removes all your data including clips, projects, and account information. For any other requests, email support@clippyx.site.
7. Cookies & Consent
We use cookies to provide and improve the Service. When you first visit ClippyX, a cookie consent banner will appear. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies at any time.
- Essential cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and basic site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Used by PostHog to collect anonymous usage data (page views, feature usage, session duration). No personally identifiable information is included. You can decline these via the cookie consent banner.
- Consent cookie: A small cookie (
clippyx_cookie_consent) that stores your cookie preference so we don't ask you again.
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or any third-party ad networks.
8. Analytics & Tracking
We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with ClippyX and improve the experience. PostHog collects:
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Feature usage (e.g. which editing tools are most popular)
- Session duration and engagement metrics
- Device type, browser, and screen resolution
- Approximate geographic region (country-level, derived from IP)
PostHog does not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information. All data is anonymised and aggregated. You can opt out of analytics by declining cookies in the consent banner, or by enabling your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.
We do not sell, share, or provide analytics data to any third party. Analytics data is used solely to improve ClippyX.
