Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ClippyX ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. The Service

ClippyX is an AI-powered video clipping tool. You submit a video URL or upload a video file, and our system automatically identifies engaging moments, crops to vertical format, adds captions, and delivers short-form clips.

The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that every video will produce high-quality clips — results depend on the content, audio quality, and AI analysis. Processing times vary based on server load.

3. Your Content & Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you submit. By using ClippyX, you confirm that:

• You own the content or have the legal right to process it.
• The content does not violate any copyright, trademark, or third-party rights.
• The content does not contain illegal material, hate speech, or content that violates platform policies.
• You will not use ClippyX to process content from platforms in violation of their Terms of Service.

You retain full ownership of your original videos and the clips we generate for you. We do not claim any rights over your content.

4. Credits & Subscriptions

• Free plan: 15 minutes of processing credits, one-time. Credits are consumed based on the duration of video processed.
• Creator plan ($9.99/month): 600 minutes of processing credits per billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.
• Top-up credits: Additional 50 minutes for $4.99, available to Pro users. These credits do not expire while your subscription is active.
• Credits are deducted at the time of processing. Failed jobs due to technical errors on our end will not consume credits.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not use ClippyX to:

• Process copyrighted content you do not have rights to.
• Generate clips of illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API.
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent free tier limits.
• Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

6. Analytics & Cookies

ClippyX uses cookies and analytics tools to provide and improve the Service. By using ClippyX, you acknowledge that:

• We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. These are required for the Service to function.
• We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics (page views, feature usage, session metrics). No personally identifiable information is collected by PostHog.
• A cookie consent banner will appear on your first visit. You may decline non-essential (analytics) cookies at any time.
• We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or sell any data to third parties.

7. Limitation of Liability

ClippyX is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 30 days prior to the claim.

8. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time from the Settings page. We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your clips and data will be deleted within 30 days.
